From model to PBB housemate to actress, Franki Russell now trying her luck in pageantry
FRANKI RUSSELL – The former Pinoy Big Brother (PBB) Otso housemate will try her luck in Miss Universe UAE 2021.
The Filipino-Kiwi model-turned-actress is currently in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
This is the first time that Miss Universe UAE will be launched. The winning candidate will represent the country at the Miss Universe 2021 pageant this coming December.
Franki Russell is one of the hopefuls who entered the casting process of the pageant.
From the Top 300, there will be a shortlist of candidates. Then, the Top 30 will be selected and it will be announced on October 20, 2021.
They will compete for pre-pageant activities until the grand coronation night on November 7, 2021.
On Twitter, Franki Russell posted a message in connection with her participation in Miss Universe United Arab Emirates (UAE).
“It may not be the flag that you prefer, but I am so excited because this particular pageant represents a lot more than that,” she noted.
According to her, Miss Universe is a good platform to celebrate women with interracial backgrounds.
Meanwhile, in an interview on September 16, 2021, Franki Russell said that she is just waiting for her papers to be fixed so that she can return to the Philippines.
She also mentioned that she signed a contract with a management company in the country that will handle her career.
Franki grew up in New Zealand. Her father is a New Zealander while her mom is a Filipina.
She joined PBB Otso in 2018 and was one of the evicted housemates. However, Franki got into showbiz.
When the pandemic struck, Franki Russell returned first to New Zealand, and then to Australia, before heading to Dubai.
