Body shaming is defined as the act of making inappropriate and negative comments about another person’s weight or size.

Many experienced such a rude act and celebrities are not exempted.

Some are being criticized because of their body that drastically changed throughout the years.

Even celebrities who are in fact not that big in size receive body shaming.

One of which is actress Gabbi Garcia.

To respond to criticisms about her body, she took to the micro-blogging site, Twitter wherein she slammed those who are body shaming.

“ang taba mo” “chubby ka na” “buntis ka ba” omaygad can we all stop & take a break from body shaming?? Bawal tumaba at mag stress eat ng lockdown? Bawal maging bloated? Kailangan beach body forever? Grabe anong petsa na guys, character development naman tayo diyan.”

Her post was then flooded with reactions from the netizens.

Many praised her for standing against the so-called body shamers.

Meanwhile, Gabbi Garcia whose real name is Gabriella Louise Ortega Lopez is an artist of GMA Network.

Her first acting role was as Nicole Perez on GMA Network’s primetime series My Destiny and Let The Love Begin.

She then played Sang’gre Alena in the reboot of Encantadia which gave her massive popularity.

She was once paired with actor Ruru Madrid. However, their love team ended in 2018.

She last appeared on television via mystery-romance miniseries ‘Love You Stranger’ alongside her newest onscreen partner and real-life boyfriend Khalil Ramos.

Currently, she is one of the hosts of the GMA variety show, All Out Sundays.
