Romnick Sarmenta: “I was asked by one of my uncles if I was a member (of the LGBT community) and I got offended.”
ROMNICK SARMENTA – The actor revealed during a media conference that he was once questioned by a family member if he was gay.
In the mediacon of Love Beneath the Stars, the follow-up series of movie, The Boy Foretold By The Stars, he expressed his views about the LGBTQIA+ community.
According to him, the moment he read the script of the iWantTFC original series wherein he plays the role of Adrian Lindayag’s father, he said he wanted to be part of it.
Romnick Sarmenta, a father of six kids, also explained in the mediacon how he would react if any of his children (two boys and four girls) came out.
He said he will understand and support them as long as they are not hurting themselves or others in the process.
At one point, he opened up about his experience when a family member questioned his gender preference.
He said: “So dumating na sa point na even in my family I was asked by one of my uncles if I was a member (of the LGBT community) and I got offended.”
Joining Romnick Sarmenta and Adrian Lindayag in Love Beneath the Stars, written and directed by Dolly Dulu are newcomers and popular stars such as Keann Johnson, Nikki Valdez Victor Silayan, and Iyah Mina.
The series will premiere starting August 16 and will have six episodes (a new episode every Monday).
Meanwhile, Romeo Nicolas Sarmenta Tejedor or popularly known as Romnick Sarmenta is best remembered as the five-year-old boy who played the role of Peping in the TV series Gulong ng Palad.
He last appeared on the big screen via Kung Paano Hinihintay Ang Dapithapon.
While his most recent appearance on television was via the long-running ABS-CBN action teleserye, FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano.
