Senator Bong Revilla supports the call of Senator Tito Sotto and Congresswoman Vilma Santos for the franchise renewal of ABS-CBN.
It was in July last year when the Kapamilya Network shut down after it failed to renew its franchise.
This prompted the network to stop airing its shows on television and radio.
While some are in favor of the closure of ABS-CBN, other senators including Vicente “Tito” Sotto III as well as Bong Revilla back the renewal of its franchise.
According to Bong Revilla, he supports the renewal of the ABS-CBN franchise despite his resentment with the network.
“From the very beginning naman, kahit na may sama ako ng loob sa kanila, supportive ako sa ABS-CBN franchise,” he said.
“At hanggang ngayon, iyon pa rin ang stand ko—I will support the renewal of the franchise of ABS-CBN,” he added.
Senator Bong clarified that he was upset with the members of News and Current Affairs of Kapamilya Network and not with the network’s Entertainment Department.
When asked if there’s a probability that the ABS-CBN franchise could be renewed, he said: “It should emanate sa Lower House. And then, ita-tackle namin pag sumampa sa Senado.”
