Time hails Joe Biden and Kamala Harris as “Person of the Year”
US President-elect Joe Biden and Vice President-elect Kamala Harris have been named as Time’s “Person of the Year.”
Time made the announcement via a post on the micro-blogging site, Twitter wherein it shared a glimpse of the Democratic leaders accompanied by the subtitle, “Changing America’s story.”
In the recent elections, Joe Biden defeated outgoing US President Donald Trump with 306 electoral votes.
Joe Biden earned seven million votes besting the real estate tycoon-turned-politician who won in 2016 presidential seat.
However, Trump is yet to concede as he claims widespread fraud in the US elections.
Time Magazine has been giving recognition to a person or people who have made an impact during a calendar year since 1972.
On Thursday, LeBron James has been named as the Athlete of the Year while K-Pop supergroups BTS was named Entertainer of the Year.
In 2019, teenage climate change activist Greta Thunberg was named as Time’s Person of the Year.
