DOH COVID-19 update as of November 17, 2020
The Department of Health (DOH) gave an update about its latest COVID-19 tally as of 4:00 p.m. of November 17, 2020.
According to its COVID-19 Case Bulletin #248 dated November 17, 2020, the Department of Health recorded 1,148 newly-reported COVID-19 cases. This brought the total number of confirmed cases of coronavirus disease to 410,718.
Also, the Department of Health reported 28,313 total active cases wherein 83.6% were mild cases, 8.2% were asymptomatic cases, 5.1% were critical cases, 2.9% were severe cases, and 0.22% were moderate cases.

Moreover, the Department of Health identified the top five areas with the highest number of new coronavirus cases as of November 17 only: Cavite with 88 new cases, Quezon City with 52 new cases, Rizal with 46 new cases, Baguio City with 44 new cases, and City of Manila with 44 new cases.
Aside from the number of confirmed cases, the Department of Health had recorded 186 newly-reported recoveries, bringing the total number of recoveries to 374,543. Also, the Department of Health recorded 23 newly-reported fatalities, bringing the total number of coronavirus deaths to 7,862.
While the coronavirus disease was still present in the Philippines and the number of COVID-19 cases kept on increasing, a natural disaster recently hit several parts of the country.
With this, the Department of Health said that with the effect of AO 2020-0053 or “Operational Guidelines in the Delivery of Essential Health Service Packages (EHSPs) for Medical and Public Health Services During Emergencies and Disasters“, the DOH ensured that their health services and responses resumed even during a disaster.
Meanwhile, the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) had approved the continuing coverage of hemodialysis sessions beyond 90-session limit as it had extended the hemodialysis coverage from 90 up to a maximum of 144.
