Dingdong Dantes Enters Magic 12 of Latest 2028 Senate Survey

Kapuso Actor Dingdong Dantes Breaks Into Top 12 of Tangere’s 2028 Senatorial Survey

DINGDONG DANTES – Kapuso Primetime King Dingdong Dantes has made it into the so-called Magic 12 of a new senatorial preference survey for the 2028 elections, according to results reported on October 25, 2026.

Dantes ranked 12th with 20.7 percent in the non-commissioned survey by research firm Tangere, conducted from October 21 to 23, The Manila Times reported. It was a big jump for the actor, who was outside the top 24 in the firm’s September survey.

His entry pushed former senator Loren Legarda down to 13th place with 19.5 percent. The gap between the two, however, is only 1.2 percentage points, which is within the survey’s margin of error of plus or minus two points.

Davao City Mayor Sebastian “Baste” Duterte led the list with 42.7 percent, up nine points from September. Former senator Grace Poe placed second with 38.3 percent, while Sen. Raffy Tulfo slipped to third with 36.5 percent.

Rounding out the top 12 were Sen. Robin Padilla, Sen. Alan Peter Cayetano, broadcaster Ben Tulfo, Davao City Rep. Paolo Duterte, Manny Pacquiao, Sen. Chiz Escudero, Sen. Sonny Angara and Akbayan Rep. Chel Diokno, who placed 11th with 22.1 percent.

Tangere said the survey used a mobile application and covered 2,400 respondents nationwide, with a 95 percent confidence level.

Dantes, who once served as chairman of the National Youth Commission, has been the subject of talk about a possible run for the Senate. Earlier this year, he placed 13th in a separate WR Numero survey. He has not formally announced any plan to run in 2028. Read more: Is Dingdong Dantes Planning to Run in the 2028 Elections?

The actor’s showing in the survey was also mentioned in Pilipino Star Ngayon’s showbiz column on October 27. Surveys like this only measure voter preference at the time they were taken and do not predict the actual election results.
