Jimmy Bondoc Defends Bong Go Amid ICC Allegations

Jimmy Bondoc Calls ICC Claims Against Bong Go Baseless

JIMMY BONDOC – The singer-songwriter expressed how deeply hurt he felt over Senator Bong Go being linked to the International Criminal Court (ICC) cases concerning former President Rodrigo Duterte’s war on drugs. As a close friend, Bondoc said it was painful to see someone he personally knows accused of such serious charges.

In a Facebook post, Bondoc highlighted Go’s long-standing dedication to helping others. He noted Go’s work providing medical assistance, supporting fire victims, aiding local governments, and being a true friend to many. For Bondoc, these actions reflect Go’s true character, which contrasts sharply with the accusations currently circulating.

Bondoc also criticized media and political narratives that he feels have distorted the truth. He explained that rumors and politics have made it appear as if Go’s good deeds are harmful. He described the claims as baseless and expressed concern that many people believe them due to biased political agendas.

He shared a comforting thought, noting that God is near to those who are heartbroken and struggling, offering hope that the truth will ultimately prevail despite these challenges.

Earlier, Senator Bong Go himself denied the allegations linking him to Duterte’s ICC case, describing them as unfounded, one-sided, and unfair.

Meanwhile, Jimmy Bondoc is a singer, songwriter, producer, lawyer, and politician. He is best known for OPM hits like Let Me Be The One and I Believe, and founded Magis Productions. Bondoc supported Rodrigo Duterte’s 2016 presidential campaign and was appointed to several positions in PAGCOR, serving from 2016 to 2022, including Assistant VP for Entertainment and VP for Corporate Social Responsibility, and later as a board member. He ran for Senate in 2025 under PDP-Laban but lost. He completed his law degree in 2023 and married Isabel Torrijos in 2025.
