Randy Santiago Defends Brother Raymart Amid Controversy
RANDY SANTIAGO – The actor-singer has broken his silence regarding the controversy involving his brother, Raymart Santiago, and the latter’s former mother-in-law, Inday Barretto.
When asked by TV5 reporter MJ Marfori about Inday Barretto’s statements in her interview with Ogie Diaz, Randy calmly said that he was aware of the situation. As the eldest brother, he felt it was his duty to protect his family, especially now that both their parents, Cielito Legaspi and Pablo Santiago, have passed away.
Randy explained that he preferred not to get involved, saying the issue between Raymart and Claudine Barretto was for them to resolve. He shared that Raymart had already issued a statement through his lawyers to address the accusations against him, and that their legal teams were now handling the matter. Randy also mentioned that, on the Santiago family’s side, they were offering support through love and understanding. He added that he believed the Barretto siblings—Marjorie and Gretchen—would eventually speak up as well.

“Kung gusto kong magsalita, magsasalita ako, eh. But I chose not to. Kung baga problema nila (Claudine Barretto at Raymart), they will solve it,” he said.

He clarified that the Santiago siblings would remain silent, emphasizing that they know their place and are confident in their values and conduct. Randy assured everyone that Raymart was doing fine despite the controversy and that their entire family continued to support him. He described the situation as sensitive but believed it was best handled privately and peacefully.

Randy admitted that the allegations against his youngest brother were painful for their family, but they chose not to engage publicly. He asked fans and the public to remember the Raymart they know and to judge him based on his true character, not on rumors or hearsay. According to Randy, what truly matters is who people choose to listen to and believe.
