Claudine Barretto Breaks Silence on Family Feud
CLAUDINE BARRETTO – The actress has revealed that she is receiving threats from her brother, Mito Barretto, who allegedly warned her that he would spread rumors accusing her of drug use. Claudine opened up about the matter in a YouTube interview with Direk Chaps Manansala and Jobert Sucaldito, saying that her life and reputation are now at risk.
According to Claudine, she began receiving anonymous calls and disturbing messages, prompting her to seek assistance from the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI). She has already issued a cease-and-desist letter in an attempt to avoid further conflict, but expressed deep concern for her safety and that of her children.
The issue reportedly began when Mito assumed Claudine was the source of a sensitive story aired on Cristy Fermin’s show. The story involved a past domestic violence incident between their sister Marjorie and her former partner, Dennis Padilla. Mito allegedly became angry, believing Claudine had leaked the information. Claudine clarified that she was not the source and said she would never side with Dennis over her own sister.
Jobert Sucaldito, one of the interviewers, noted that the accusations against Claudine included bringing up her past, labeling her a drug addict, and blaming her for issues she says she has already moved on from. Claudine said the accusations hurt more because they came from her own brother, despite everything she had done to support her family—such as paying for her nieces’ education and helping them with housing and business needs.
Claudine added that she now plans to take legal action against her brother, stating that she has had enough of being disrespected and wrongfully accused. She emphasized that she is no longer the Claudine people could bully.
Meanwhile, Claudine Barretto is an actress best known for her compelling performances in television dramas and films, especially in the late 1990s and early 2000s. She is part of the prominent Barretto showbiz family, alongside her sisters Gretchen and Marjorie Barretto.
