Netizens Slam Bato dela Rosa Over AI Video
BATO DELA ROSA – The senator faced criticism online after sharing a video opposing the impeachment of Vice President Sara Duterte, which was allegedly created using artificial intelligence (AI).
The video featured an “interview” with two young male students explaining why they do not support the impeachment of VP Sara. Notably, the video’s caption included the hashtag #AI, indicating its artificial origin. Despite this, Dela Rosa reposted it on his Facebook page, adding the caption: “Mabuti pa ang mga bata, nakakaintindi sa mga pangyayari. Makinig kayo, mga yellow at mga komunista!”
Many netizens quickly noticed that the video was AI-generated and expressed disappointment, pointing out that the senator seemed to have mistaken it for genuine content. One user commented, “Alam niyang AI yan pero shinare pa rin.”

In response to the backlash, Dela Rosa fired back at his critics, calling them “trolls” and saying, “Umatake kayo, mga trolls! Kumbate! Loslos ninyo!” He further defended his action by stating, “I don’t care if this post is AI-generated or Manobo-generated because I am not after the messenger, I am after the message. So please don’t shoot the messenger without reading the message that he delivers.”
Meanwhile, Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa is a retired police general and now a senator. He graduated from the Philippine Military Academy and later earned advanced degrees in public administration. He served over 30 years in the police force and was appointed Chief of the Philippine National Police in 2016 by then-President Rodrigo Duterte.

Dela Rosa led the government’s controversial “war on drugs” until 2018 and later headed the Bureau of Corrections. In 2019, he won a seat in the Senate, where he works on laws related to public safety, anti-drug programs, and peace efforts. While many support his tough-on-crime approach, human rights groups criticize his role in the drug war.
