The total number of coronavirus cases in the Philippines already reached 257,863 with over 4,900 newly-reported cases, according to the Department of Health (DOH).
This, as the Department of Health gave an update on the total number of COVID-19 cases in the Philippines as of 4:00 p.m. today, September 12, 2020.
According to its COVID-19 Case Bulletin #182 dated September 12, 2020, the Department of Health reported 4,935 newly-reported COVID-19 cases, which brought the total number of confirmed cases of coronavirus disease to 257,863.
Since Friday, the Department of Health didn’t report the number of operational laboratories who successfully submitted their data to the COVID-19 Data Repository System as well as the total number of operational laboratories.
However, the Department of Health on Saturday reported that only one operational laboratory failed to submit their data to the CDRS.
Moreover, 4,034 out of 4,935 newly-reported cases occurred within the recent 14 days — from August 30 to September 12.

The Department of Health also reported 66,455 total active cases as stated in its COVID-19 Case Bulletin #182 dated September 12, 2020.
Moreover, the Department of Health identified the top five areas with the highest number of new coronavirus cases as of September 12 only: Metro Manila with 2,619 new cases, Cavite with 343 new cases, Laguna with 258 new cases, Rizal with 227 new cases, and Negros Occidental with 177 new cases.
Aside from the number of confirmed cases, the Department of Health had recorded 659 newly-reported recoveries and 186 newly-reported fatalities. This brought the total number of recoveries to 187,116 and total coronavirus deaths to 4,292.
