Bongbong Marcos No Mention of Manny Villar’s Daughter Camille at Batangas Campaign Sortie

Pres. Bongbong Marcos Campaigns for Alyansa Bets in Batangas Except Camille Villar

BONGBONG MARCOS – The President did not mention Las Piñas Representative Camille Villar, the daughter of Manny Villar, at a Batangas campaign sortie.

In the upcoming May 2025 Elections, the Marcos administration has its own set of senatorial bets — the Alyansa Para Sa Pagbabago candidates. The grand alliance is composed of several huge political parties in the country including the Partido Federal ng Pilipinas, Marcos Jr.’s political party.

However, amid the election campaign period, Pres. Bongbong Marcos changed the Alyansa chant after his sister, Senator Imee Marcos, left his senatorial slate. Sen. Imee Marcos left the Alyansa following the controversial arrest of former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte. She does not support the actions of the government on the issue.

Prior to leaving the grand alliance, Sen. Imee Marcos skipped the Tacloban and Cavite campaign sorties of the team. Reportedly, Pres. Bongbong Marcos did not mention Senator Imee during the Alyansa campaign in the huge province of Cavite. It was not sure if the Chief Executive intentionally or unintentionally did it as he mentioned Las Piñas Representative Camille Villar who also skipped the campaign sortie then.

However, at a recent campaign sortie of the Alyansa Para Sa Pagbabago in Batangas, Pres. Bongbong Marcos did not mention Manny Villar’s daughter, Camille, in his endorsement speech based on a report on Manila Standard. The Alyansa candidates are the following:

  • Interior Secretary Benhur Abalos
  • Sen. Francis Tolentino
  • Sen. Pia Cayetano
  • former Sen. Manny Pacquiao
  • Makati City Mayor Abby Binay
  • Sen. Lito Lapid
  • former Senator Panfilo Lacson
  • Sen. Ramon ”Bong” Revilla Jr.
  • Deputy Speaker Camille Villar
  • former Senator Vicente Sotto III,
  • former Social Welfare and Development Secretary Erwin Tulfo

It is not sure if the President intentionally skipped the name of Villar. However, the recent action took place after Malacañang announced that Pres. Marcos will order an investigation on the Villar-owned PrimeWater. The probe is due to the complaints of alleged insufficient supply of water to several consumers.

“Most of them have [already served as] senators, so there is no longer any [need for] OJT. They are ready to work,” Marcos Jr. said on the Alyansa candidates at the grand rally.

Previously, the campaign manager of the Alyansa stressed that Villar remains part of the team while the alliance supports the probe on the water company of her family. The grand alliance expressed respect on the track record of the daughter of Manny Villar.

Aside from the Alyansa Para Sa Pagbabago backed by the Marcos administration, Las Piñas Rep. Camille Villar is also endorsed by Vice Pres. Sara Duterte.
