The Department of Health (DOH) had recorded 3,176 newly-reported coronavirus cases in the Philippines as of 4:00 p.m. of September 9, 2020.
This, as the Department of Health gave an update on the total number of COVID-19 cases in the Philippines as of today.
According to its COVID-19 Case Bulletin #179 dated September 9, 2020, the Department of Health reported 3,176 newly-reported COVID-19 cases, which brought the total number of confirmed cases of coronavirus disease to 245,143.
In addition, the Department of Health stated that the newly-confirmed cases on Wednesday were reported based on the total tests done by 105 out of 117 current operational laboratories. The Department of Health also reported that 12 operational laboratories failed to submit their data to the CDRS or the COVID-19 Data Repository System.
Moreover, 2,793 out of 3,176 newly-reported cases occurred within the recent 14 days — from August 27 to September 9.

The Department of Health also reported 55,614 total active cases as stated in its COVID-19 Case Bulletin #179 dated September 9, 2020.
Moreover, the Department of Health identified the top five areas with the highest number of new coronavirus cases as of September 9 only: Metro Manila with 1,327 new cases, Batangas with 260 new cases, Laguna with 193 new cases, Rizal with 176 new cases, and Negros Occidental with 155 new cases.
Aside from the number of confirmed cases, the Department of Health had recorded 376 newly-reported recoveries and 70 newly-reported fatalities. This brought the total number of recoveries to 185,543 and total coronavirus deaths to 3,986.
