The boy’s grandmother, Rosita, recounted the terrifying incident. She had just returned from church when she noticed something unusual. Her grandson had been playing on his phone as usual, but suddenly, his eyes rolled back, his hands stiffened, and his mouth and tongue became rigid.
Despite their attempts to ease his condition, his body remained tense, causing panic in the household.
His mother, Jeylonie, expressed her fears that his frequent phone use may have triggered the episode. On a typical day, he spent around six hours playing mobile games, sometimes even the entire day.
He had often complained about headaches and eye strain after long hours on his device. The family had tried to limit his screen time, but the situation escalated before they could fully intervene.
Following the incident, they immediately called for an ambulance, worried about his condition. The alarming episode has since raised awareness among parents about the potential health risks associated with excessive gadget use.
Experts advise monitoring children’s screen time, encouraging regular breaks, and ensuring a balance between digital activities and physical play to prevent similar cases.
