LTO Offers Free Driving Course for Women This March

Free Driving Lessons for Women This March from LTO

LTO – The Land Transportation Office is offering a free Theoretical Driving Course (TDC) for women in celebration of National Women’s Month this March.

This initiative is part of the “Serbisyo Para kay Juana” program by the Philippine Commission on Women (PCW), which recognizes the strength, resilience, and contributions of women in various sectors. The LTO announced that this free training will be available in multiple locations nationwide, but each batch will be limited to 50 participants. Interested applicants are encouraged to register early.

The 15-hour TDC is a mandatory requirement for obtaining a Student Permit, which is necessary before applying for a Non-Professional Driver’s License. Through this course, participants will gain essential knowledge about LTO operations, the driver’s license application process, traffic laws and regulations, defensive driving techniques, road discipline, and basic vehicle maintenance, including proper parking and accident prevention. The LTO Central Office will hold free seminars from March 11 to 14, while various regional LTO offices will also offer sessions throughout the month.

To qualify, applicants must be female and at least 16 years old. They must present a PSA Birth Certificate, National ID (if available), Marriage Certificate (for married applicants), Notarized Parent Consent (for minors), a photocopy of the guardian’s ID (with three signatures), and an Original Certificate of Indigency from the Barangay. Participants must personally attend the seminar and follow the dress code, which prohibits sleeveless tops, slippers, and shorts. Additionally, they are advised to bring a ballpen and snacks. Before joining, applicants must also create an account at portal@lto.gov.ph for online registration.

This program not only aims to promote road safety but also provides an opportunity to empower women by equipping them with essential driving skills. By making the course free and accessible, the LTO encourages more women to become confident and responsible drivers. Those interested should take advantage of this initiative and register as soon as possible to secure a slot.
