After ‘Cursing’ on Fast Talk with Boy Abunda, John Arcilla Apologizes
JOHN ARCILLA – The award-winning actor quickly apologized to the public after unintentionally uttering an expletive during the live broadcast of Fast Talk with Boy Abunda on Tuesday, February 5.
John appeared on the show alongside Martin Del Rosario as part of the cast of Lolong: Bayani ng Bayan, starring Ruru Madrid. During the interview, Boy challenged John to respond to questions through acting—a fitting request given John’s reputation as an exceptional actor.
At one point, Boy asked, “What makes you angry?” In character, John passionately responded, “Yung mga nagsasamantala ng maliliit na tao at walang pakialam sa paghihirap ng iba! Punyeta!!!!”

John was visibly carried away by his emotions, seemingly channeling his iconic role as Heneral Luna from the critically acclaimed 2015 film. Realizing what had happened, Boy immediately issued a disclaimer and apologized to the viewers, explaining that John’s use of the word “punyeta” was in the context of Heneral Luna’s well-known expressions.

“Nay, Tay, Kapuso, patawad po doon sa word na may ‘P’ ni John. It was in context,” Boy said. John also quickly followed up with his own apology, admitting that he had momentarily forgotten they were on live television. “Sorry, I’m sorry. Live nga pala ito. Ipinasok ko lang po si Heneral Luna,” he explained.
As of now, the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) has not issued any statement regarding the incident.
