Maris Racal Airs Her Side on Cheating Issue with Anthony Jennings
MARIS RACAL – The actress broke her silence regarding the controversy involving her and her co-actor Anthony Jennings.
In an emotional interview with ABS-CBN News, the Kapamilya actress expressed her deep embarrassment and regret over the situation. The issue began when Jamela Villanueva, Jennings’ ex-girlfriend, shared private screenshots of conversations between Maris and Anthony, which quickly went viral.
Maris admitted feeling “gutted” and “shocked” when she first saw the intimate messages being spread online. She was particularly distressed because it was done without her consent, and the invasion of her privacy left her feeling exposed. “I don’t know where to go. Whenever I go out, I feel like a naked woman walking. I’m so embarrassed,” she shared.
The actress also revealed that she was unaware of the ongoing issues between Anthony and his ex-girlfriend. She explained that she only learned of the situation after reading the screenshots. Maris emphasized that while she takes full responsibility for her actions, she did not intend for her private conversations to be shared publicly. “It was supposed to be a private, intimate thing,” she said.
Maris also addressed the people who have supported her over the years, apologizing for the distress caused by the controversy. “I’m truly sorry to those people who supported me for 10 years. Alam nila lahat na ginapang ko yung career ko mapunta lang san ko gusto. Ginawa ko lahat, pinaghirapan ko lahat sa tulong nila–– nagagawa ko yung mga gusto ko,” she said. She further expressed her commitment to moving forward despite the difficulties, assuring her fans that her passion for her career remains strong.
While acknowledging her mistakes, Maris made it clear that she was not trying to play the victim. “What you saw was not a perfect human. I’m far from being perfect. What you saw was a human being and I really am just a human being,” she concluded, promising to learn from the experience and continue working hard.
