This, as the Department of Health gave an update on the total number of COVID-19 cases in the Philippines as of 4:00 p.m. today, August 27, 2020.

According to its COVID-19 Case Bulletin #166 dated August 27, 2020, the Department of Health reported 3,249 newly-reported COVID-19 cases, which brought the total number of confirmed cases of coronavirus disease to 205,581.

In addition, the Department of Health stated that the newly-confirmed cases on Thursday were reported based on the total tests done by 98 out of 110 current operational laboratories. Moreover, 2,607 out of 3,249 newly-reported cases occurred within the recent 14 days — from August 14 to 27.

Aside from the number of confirmed cases, the Department of Health had recorded 566 newly-reported recoveries and 97 newly-reported fatalities. This brought the total number of recoveries to 133,990 and total coronavirus deaths to 3,234.
