JESSY MENDIOLA – The actress expressed her support for her husband, Luis Manzano, as he runs for vice governor of Batangas in the 2025 midterm elections.

In an open letter shared on Instagram on October 3, Mendiola acknowledged that his candidacy was not part of their original plan but viewed it as part of a divine purpose. She praised Manzano for his hard work, care, and generosity, stating, “Isa ka sa pinaka-masipag, maalaga at mapagbigay na tao na kilala ko.” Mendiola highlighted how their co-workers can attest to his selfless nature and willingness to help others. She added that his “pure heart” is one of the reasons she loves him.

Despite the unexpected nature of this political journey, Mendiola reassured him of her unwavering support, saying, “Alam kong hindi ito parte ng plano natin pero andito ako para suportahan ka kahit ano pa man ang mangyari.” She emphasized the significance of this change in their lives and expressed confidence that it would lead to positive outcomes, stating that many people are rallying behind him.

Mendiola also expressed pride in Manzano’s choice to pursue this path, which aims to create positive change and help others. She noted that others would finally experience the care of “LUCKY,” a reference to the affectionate nickname Manzano is known by.

In response, Manzano thanked Mendiola for her support on his political journey. He previously filed his certificate of candidacy (COC) alongside his mother, Vilma Santos, who is running for Batangas governor, and his half-brother, Ryan Recto, who is seeking the representative position for Batangas’ 6th district.

Several celebrities and public figures have filed their certificates of candidacy (COCs) for the upcoming 2025 elections in the Philippines. In the Senate race, Lito Lapid, Phillip Salvador, Vicente “Tito” Sotto III, and Willie Ong are among the candidates. In the House of Representatives, Arjo Atayde, Jolo Revilla, Lani Mercado-Revilla, and Marco Gumabao are running for election. For local positions, Alfred Vargas, Dan Fernando, Enzo Pineda, Ion Perez, Lou Veloso, and Lucy Torres are also contesting.
