A lady netizen was moved by a hardworking elderly vendor selling vegetables from morning until night.
Recently, Renalyn Gatuz, a Facebook user, shared her experience of seeing an elderly woman, Nanay Nancy, selling vegetables from morning until night, rain or shine. The post quickly went viral and received numerous reactions from netizens.
Nanay Nancy, 77 years old, is from Hulo Papaya, San Antonio, Nueva Ecija. Renalyn had noticed her several times on her way to and from work, always at the same spot in front of Primark Plaridel, selling vegetables.
On September 17, 2024, Renalyn finally decided to buy some eggplants from her. When she asked the price, Nanay Nancy said it was P50 per kilo. After putting the vegetables in a plastic bag, Nanay Nancy asked Renalyn to check the weight, showing how honest and dedicated she is. Even with change, she always double-checks to make sure everything is right.
Two days later, on September 19, 2024, Renalyn returned to buy more vegetables from Nanay Nancy. When she arrived, she found her asleep, but another customer woke her up to make a purchase.
Despite her age and the tiring work, Nanay Nancy continues to sell her vegetables every day without asking for help.
Renalyn encourages everyone who passes by to support Nanay Nancy by buying her vegetables. She may not ask for assistance, but every purchase helps lighten her load and ensure she sells out her goods.

She is Nanay Nancy 77 y/o from Hulo Papaya, San Antonio, Nueva Ecija. Ilang araw ko na rin sya nakikita every morning pag pumapasok ako sa work and pag umuuwi ako napapansin ko na nandon pa din siya.
Umulan o umaraw nagtitinda pa rin ng mga gulay sa harap mismo ng Primark Plaridel. September 17, 2024 bumili ako sa kanya, I asked her kung magkano per kl ng talong sabi nya 50 pesos anak, nung nilagay ko na sa plastic,ako yung tinanong nya kung ilan kl daw ba yung nasa timbangan, kaya sana lahat ng bumibili sa kanya honest pati kasi sa pag sukli tinatanong kung may kulang pa ba.
Today, Sept 19, 2024 binalikan ulit namin si Nanay Nancy para bumili ulit sa kanya. Nadatnan namin syang tulog, may gumising lang sa kanya na bibili rin kay Nanay.
Please sa lahat ng makakakita sakanya bilhan nyo naman si Nanay Nancy ng tinda nyang gulay. Hindi sya humihingi ng tulong pero sana matulungan natin sya na maubos yung mga tinda nya. Thank youuu”
