The Department of Health (DOH) had recorded 4,686 newly-reported coronavirus cases in the Philippines as of 4:00 p.m. of August 24, 2020.
This, as the Department of Health gave an update on the total number of COVID-19 cases in the Philippines as of 4:00 p.m. today.
According to its COVID-19 Case Bulletin #163 dated August 24, 2020, the Department of Health reported 4,686 newly-reported COVID-19 cases, which brought the total number of confirmed cases of coronavirus disease to 194,252.
In addition, the Department of Health stated that the newly-confirmed cases on Monday were reported based on the total tests done by 95 out of 109 current operational laboratories. Moreover, 4,045 out of 4,686 newly-reported cases occurred within the recent 14 days — from August 11 to 24.

In addition, the Department of Health reported 59,200 total active cases as stated in its COVID-19 Case Bulletin #163 dated August 24, 2020.
Moreover, the Department of Health identified the top five areas with the highest number of new coronavirus cases as of August 24 only: Metro Manila with 2,519 new cases, Laguna with 286 new cases, Cavite with 218 new cases, Bulacan with 189 new cases, and Rizal with 179 new cases.
Aside from the number of confirmed cases, the Department of Health had recorded 729 newly-reported recoveries and 13 newly-reported fatalities. This brought the total number of recoveries to 132,042 and total coronavirus deaths to 3,010.
