Ely Buendia’s son Eon Buendia was one of the members of an indie pop trio Nobody’s Home and they recently released their debut single “12:00 (Midnight)”.
Signed by Sony Music Philippines last July 2020, Nobody’s Home had recently released its debut single last August 16, which was already available in digital platforms worldwide. The music video of the said track was premiered on August 21.
Nobody’s Home’s main songwriter and lead vocalist Eon Buendia, who was the son of music icon Ely Buendia, said in an interview that the said track was a song that talked about “destiny”, adding that it was also somewhat a personal song for him and his bandmates as they shared the same feeling of being “a burden to others”.
Moon Cairo Peralta — Nobody’s Home’s drummer and co-writer — revealed that the said track was already “two years old”, adding that the said track started with him playing around with synths with a “Michael Jackson groove” in mind.

Moon also said that he later sent it to Eon, who wrote the lyrics and melodies of the track, while guitarist Justin Punzalan added the guitar lines into the track.
When asked about their sound, Justin Punzalan — Nobody’s Home’s guitarist — said that they came from different genres, adding that it made their sound experimental and yet the “sense of nostalgia” remain.
