Pinay Au Pair April Joyce Briones Has Complaints About Her Host Family in the Netherlands
APRIL JOYCE BRIONES CASE – An Overseas Filipino Worker (OFW) requested the help of netizens to locate the Filipina Au Pair who abruptly left her host family in the Netherlands, allegedly to work in Spain.
Zhel Velasco, an OFW in the Netherlands who helped April Joyce Briones secure a host family as an Au Pair in Amsterdam, took to social networking site, Facebook, wherein she expressed her disappointment with Briones for fleeing to Spain after only two weeks.
Zhel is offering a P30,000 reward to Filipinos in Spain to find Briones and have her deported back to the Philippines. “Tinakasan nya po yung host family nya na kumuha sakanya dito sa pinas. Napakabait ng host family nya sakanya,” she said. “Hindi po deserve ng katulad nya manirahan sa EUROPE gayong wala po talaga syang pakialam kahit sino ang maargabyado nyang tao,” she added.
Velasco also shared parts of her conversation with Briones, who complained about the food and that her host asked her to use the vacuum to clean the house. However, the host family refuted the complaint, stating they bought rice to meet Briones’s needs.
She also posted evidence showing that Briones had planned to leave her host family to work in Spain. “It’s all about cunning, bii,” Briones told her friend. As of now, the Philippine Embassy in Madrid has not yet issued a statement on the matter.
To recall, a certain Narmeen Iesa took to the Facebook page, PINOY IN AMSTERDAM, her concern about Briones, an au pair they had adopted to help care for their household. An au pair is different from an Overseas Filipino Worker (OFW) as they are considered ‘equal’ by their host family and receive accommodation and pocket money for performing house chores.
