Diwata Reveals Coco Martin Almost Kissed Him
COCO MARTIN – The lead star and director of “FPJ’s Batang Quiapo” nearly kissed Diwata in a light-hearted moment on set.
Diwata, a social media personality and pares restaurant owner, recounted the incident during an interview with Toni Gonzaga on “Toni Talks.” He revealed that it was his first day of filming, and he felt incredibly nervous due to his lack of experience in acting.
He had to act alongside Coco and Ivana Alawi, which added to his anxiety. “Nakakakaba nga eh,” Diwata explained. “Kasi hindi ko naman alam ‘yang mga taping-taping na ‘yan, Parang sige, go, kakayanin ko na lang. Kasi opportunity ‘yan eh, minsan lang ‘yan dumating kaya huwag mo nang pakawalan.”
During the interview, Toni inquired if Coco had assisted him with his acting. Diwata humorously responded that Coco was very supportive and had even jokingly offered to kiss him to ease his nerves. Diwata laughed as he recalled being so nervous that he couldn’t let go of the script, and while Coco’s offer was in jest, Diwata declined.
Diwata expressed his appreciation for Coco Martin, praising him for his kindness and support as both a coworker and a director. This anecdote has amused fans and sparked playful warnings from netizens to Coco’s real-life partner, actress Julia Montes, to “be worried,” creating a buzz online.
Diwata is a social media personality and entrepreneur recognized for selling pares, a Filipino beef stew served with rice. Originally from the province of Samar in the Philippines, Diwata moved to Manila to seek better opportunities. His entrepreneurial journey is marked by hardship and resilience; he lived under a bridge and worked various jobs, including as a construction worker and a beautician, before finding success with his 24-hour pares business.
