The municipality of Sagada reported its first case of COVID-19.
The municipality of Sagada in Mountain Province on Sunday reported its first case of coronavirus disease (COVID-19), although the said patient had no history of travel.
This, as Municipal Mayor James Pooten Jr. released an advisory announcing that a frontliner — who was a 29-year-old male — had tested positive for coronavirus disease.
According to Pooten, the said frontliner had no history of travel, adding that he’s currently being isolated. He also said that those who had direct contact with the said frontliner were subjected to undergo quarantine.
In addition, Pooten said that all COVID-19 Monitoring Hubs — which were located at Payag-eo, Pegeo, and Taccong — had been temporarily closed for contamination Monday.
Moreover, he said that no one could enter or exit the municipality for “further contact tracing purposes”.
Two new cases were recorded in Mountain Province on Sunday: one was from Sagada and one from Bontoc.
In a report on Rappler, a frontliner — who was a 29-year-old police officer from Bontoc — had tested positive for coronavirus disease, adding that the said frontliner was previously assigned in Metro Manila, yet he was reassigned back to Bontoc via Camp Dangwa in Benguet.
In addition, the said frontliner arrived in Bontoc last July 30 and had tested for coronavirus disease, adding that he was asymptomatic and was currently being isolated.
As per the report, only the towns of Barlig, Sadanga, and Bauko were remained COVID-19-free in Mountain Province.

Meanwhile, the Department of Health reported 129,913 total cases of coronavirus disease as of 4:00 p.m. of August 9. Moreover, the DOH reported 67,673 total recoveries, 2,270 total fatalities, and 59,970 total active cases.
