Gelli de Belen reacts to Carmina Villarroel’s alleged interference in son Mavy’s love life
GELLI DE BELEN – The actress defended her friend Carmina Villarroel, who was accused of being a “pakialamera” by netizens when the relationship between her son Mavy Legaspi and GMA actress Kyline Alcantara ended.
On January 7, 2024, Carmina released a statement saying she does not meddle in her children’s love lives and supports whoever they choose as long as it’s respectful and sincere. Carmina also stated that as a mother, she is ready to defend her children against any issues.
According to Gelli, no one can question a mother’s love and desire to protect her child from any pain they might experience. The actress-TV host said: “Nobody can judge a mother, a mother who is hurting, who loves her child.”
“Kayo man, kung mayroon kayong point of view, mayroon kayong nakita, nanay yun, huwag nating kuwestyunin yan. Nanggaling sa kanya, e. More than anybody, hindi natin puwedeng kuwestyunin ang love ng ina. Hindi yun biro. Ano pa ba ang madadagdag ko?” she added.
To recall, in 2021, Mavy and Kyline confirmed their relationship. However, before the end of 2023, reports surfaced about issues between the couple, escalating due to social media exchanges involving Kyline and Mavy’s mom, Carmina Villarroel.
On November 26, Carmina shared a cryptic message saying, “Mom knows best,” hinting at her wisdom and understanding of the situation involving her children, Mavy and Cassy. Earlier, she had posted a heartfelt note addressing Mavy and Cassy, emphasizing that despite any negative perceptions or rumors, their good deeds and true character would always be appreciated by those who truly know them. These messages reflect Carmina’s support and guidance for her children amidst challenges and controversies.
