In a vlog interview with Julius Babao, Chiqui shared details about how Vic courted her. “I think it was at the time na… Because what you are not aware of is yung grupong yan, yan na. After work, kakain lahat kami sa canteen. Magkakasama lang kayo,” she said.
“Tapos uwian na, or may lakad pa. Kasi sila, may mga shooting pa after. Sometimes, and those guys, they’re shy. Hindi naman sila yung akala mo, nagpapatawa diyan. Pagtingin mo, nakaupo lang yan, may kanya-kanyang… seryoso. Hindi sila yung tumatawa o nagpapatawa, she added. She further revealed that it seemed like Vic didn’t formally court her.
Chiqui shared that her daughter, Chia Hollmann, is friends with Vic’s current wife, Pauleen Luna, who was also a co-host on Eat Bulaga!. Chiqui shared an instance where Pauleen borrowed something for her daughter’s baby.
Chiqui admitted that she couldn’t recall the details of her relationship with Vic, which happened over four decades ago. She laughed, saying, “It’s been so long. It’s been… I’ve been married for 42 years. I cannot recall.” She was also Vic’s first girlfriend among the female co-hosts of Eat Bulaga!.
When asked about the duration of their relationship, Chiqui mentioned that she did not engage in years-long relationships and explained, “Kasi ako, nakaka-separate ako ng trabaho at saka ng personal life. Kahit magkasama tayo, puwede ako, puwede ako yung pagkatapos nun, tapos na, bye-bye, ganun. Puwede ako nun, yun lang.”
Chiqui shared how their relationship ended, saying, “Dinenay. Sabi niya, ‘That’s not true.’ I heard it. I heard it somewhere. Pero, you know, that’s like, ‘It’s alright. Cool.’ Hindi naman ako yung makikipag-away. Hindi, hindi.”
Regarding how she handled hosting Eat Bulaga! after their separation, Chiqui stated, “Sabi ko, ‘Basta you’re happy. It’s okay. I’ll go date someone else.’ “Siguro. Hindi ko matandaan.” After leaving Eat Bulaga!, Chiqui moved on to the rival noontime show, Student Canteen, on GMA-7.
