Ara Mina on her showbiz career
ARA MINA – The actress revealed that she got “indecent proposals” when she first started her career in the showbiz industry.
The actress recently starred in the Kapuso series “Lovers/Liars”, which ended its run this January. It can be recalled that she got married to Philippine International Trading Corporation (PITC) President and CEO Dave Almarinez in 2021.
Ara appeared in the latest episode of “Surprise Guest with Pia Arcangel” podcast where she opened up about her career beginnings and starting in the showbiz industry.
In an interview with Pia Arcangel, Ara said that she appeared on “That’s Entertainment” at 14 years old and she later became a mainstay on “Bubble Gang”. She also revealed that she had four screen names – including Dara Mina, Danica Gomez, and Ara Mina Reyes.
But with those great opportunities also come instances where she felt unsafe. According to her, she once had a stalker and she also got “indecent proposals” as well.
“I remember nagkaroon lang ako ng stalker. Nagkaroon ako ng mga suitors na, as in talagang mga… I admit na mayroong mga indecent proposal na nakakatakot,” the actress said in an interview.
The actress also said that the proposals would be from total strangers, and that they would contact her manager asking to meet her up. She added that there’s no social media at that time and it’s really hard for the guy to connect to her if she didn’t meet the person.
Ara shared that she would rarely answer the phone if a stranger was calling, but she has to be careful if the interaction happens in real life.
