Kiko Pangilinan reacts on PhilHealth P15-B issue
Senator Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan has reacted to the alleged 15 billion pesos worth of funds pocketed by “corrupt” officials in the Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth).
Earlier, resigned PhilHealth anti-fraud legal officer Thorrsson Montes Keith revealed in a Senate hearing that a whopping 15 billion worth of funds has been snatched by the “syndicate-like” transactions within the agency.
“Naniniwala po ako, base sa aking imbestigasyon, ang perang nawaldas at o ninakaw ay humigit kumulang P15 billion,” Keith said.

According to him, the scheme includes the procurement of “overpriced” information and communication technology equipment.
He later stressed that he came out to expose “widespread corruption” within the state insurance firm.
“Nandito po ako ngayon para magbigay ng aking nalalaman sa mala-pandemiyang korapsyon sa ahensya ng PhilHealth,” he said.
“Sa aking ipapahayag, naniniwala po ako na ang balak ng mga sindikato o mafia ng PhilHealth na ang pagkukuhanan ng ipangpantatapal sa mga nawaldas at ninakaw nilang pera ay sa mga overseas Filipino workers,” he added.

Among who reacted on Keith’s claim is Senator Kiko Pangilinan who was furious over the alleged “scheme” within the agency that has pocketed money from 82 million PhilHealth members.
“Nakakalula ang nakawang nangyayari sa panahon ng COVID. Pera ‘yang P15 billion ng 82 million PhilHealth members. Tayong lahat na PhilHealth members ang ninanakawan,” Kiko Pangilinan wrote.
Kiko Pangilinan’s tweet is currently making rounds online garnering mixed reactions and comments from the netizens particularly on the micro-blogging site, Twitter.
