Authorities Record First Coronavirus Case in Sri Lanka

FIRST CORONAVIRUS CASE IN SRI LANKA – The authorities recorded the 1st case of the novel coronavirus in Sri Lanka.

The novel coronavirus, a rampant disease in China now, continues to spread in other countries. It was previously reported that there are cases in Japan, United States, Nepal, and France now.

Most of these patients came from China in December 2019 and January 2020. They are currently isolated to prevent infecting more people.

The novel coronavirus reportedly has the symptoms of a flu. The person may experience fever and as well as respiratory conditions. Cough and breathing difficulties may be experienced.

First Coronavirus Case in Sri Lanka

It is believed that the novel coronavirus came from the bat soup that is served in the market in Wuhan City where it was first recorded. It was yet to be confirmed.

Recently, another alarming update crossed the surface. Based on a report on Inquirer, the first coronavirus case in Sri Lanka was confirmed by the authorities.

According to Dr. Sudath Samaraweera, Sri Lanka Health Ministry’s Chief Epidemiologist, the patient is a 40-year-old woman. She previously visited the Hubei province in China and returned to Sri Lanka last week.

Based on the report, the patient had fever. She is hospitalized at the Infectious Disease Hospital which is really intended for patients with contagious diseases.

Sri Lanka, where there is a confirmed case of the rampant disease now, is one of the major destinations of Chinese people. Several infrastructures in the country were also funded by Chinese.
