DOH reported over 2,000 new coronavirus cases in the Philippines as of today, July 6, 2020.
The Department of Health (DOH) on Monday reported over 2,000 new cases of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in the Philippines as of July 6, 2020.
This, as the Department of Health reported 2,099 new coronavirus cases wherein 1,258 were classified as “fresh” cases and the remaining 841 were classified as “late” cases, bringing the total number of confirmed cases of coronavirus disease to 46,333 as of 4:00 p.m. of July 6, 2020.
For “fresh” cases, 601 COVID-19 patients were from Metro Manila, 280 were from Central Visayas, 48 repatriates, and the remaining 329 came from different areas in the Philippines.
For the “late” cases, 397 COVID-19 patients were from Metro Manila, 186 were from Central Visayas, 46 repatriates, and the remaining 212 were from different areas in the Philippines.
According to the Department of Health, the fresh cases recorded on Monday were based on its test results released to patients within the last three days, while the late cases recorded were based on the test results released to patients four days ago or more.

Aside from the number of confirmed cases, the Department of Health also reported 243 additional recoveries and six new coronavirus deaths. This brought the total number of recoveries to 12,185 and total fatalities to 1,303.
