Here’s the latest update on teacher intern who went missing in Catbalogan
DARLENE LUZELLE UY – The teacher intern who went missing for five (5) days in Catbalogan, Samar has been found alive.
On March 23, 2023, a 22-year-old student and teacher intern at Catbalogan I Central Elementary School in Catbalogan City, went missing, causing great concern among her family and colleagues. The last place she was seen was Purok 8, Canlapwas, at around 1:00-3:00 pm.
Despite widespread search efforts and appeals for information, she was not located for five long days. In order to aid in the search, her parents even offered a reward of P250,000 for any information about her possible whereabouts.
Fortunately, on Tuesday, March 28, 2023, Uy was finally found alive near the Antiao River in Barangay Canlapwas, Catbalogan City. She was discovered by two law enforcement officers on a motorized boat who spotted her behind some nipa and coconut trees. It was reported that she was still wearing her blue internship uniform at the time she was found.
Upon her rescue, Uy was found to be weak but conscious and responsive. She was immediately taken to the Catbalogan Doctors Hospital for a thorough medical examination and treatment.
However, no further details have been released by the authorities regarding her current condition or the cause of her sudden disappearance. It’s a relief that she was found alive, but there are still many unanswered questions about what happened to her during those five days she was missing.
