Here’s the opinion of Agot Isidro on the results of MMFF 2022 Awards Night
AGOT ISIDRO – The actress took to social media wherein she shared that she was slightly disappointed with the results of MMFF 2022 Awards Night.
Agot stars in the MMFF entry Family Matters, directed by Nuel Naval. It centers on the story of the family of an elderly married couple; Francisco (Noel Trinidad) and Eleanor (Liza Lorena), and their children: Kiko (Nonie Buencamino), Fortune (Mylene Dizon), Ellen (Nikki Valdez), and Enrico (JC Santos).
In the movie, Ellen flies for the United States in a bid to find a romantic partner, leaving the three other siblings to take care of their parents. Agot plays the role of Kiko’s wife in the said film.
It was on Tuesday, December 27 when the Gabi ng Parangal, the awarding ceremony of Metro Manila Film Festival, was held. It took place at the New Frontier Theater in Araneta City.
But Agot was disappointed with the results of the MMFF 2022 Awards Night. Their movie only earned one award, the Gatpuno J. Villegas Cultural Award.
According to Agot, after the awards night, they went home “medyo disappointed ” because “hindi napansin man lang ang ibat ibang aspeto ng aming pelikula”. She added that what eases them are the messages of support, all the glowing reviews, posts that reveal the story, and reactions after leaving the cinema.
She’s hoping that the lessons learned from the movie will be taken to heart. She said: “Hindi bale wala sa amin yun. If anything, dito pa lang sobrang panalo na kami.” She also thanked those who supported the movie and is hoping that many will watch the film which is still showing in more than 100 theaters.
