BTS JIN – Fans of the K-Pop supergroup turned emotional as the oldest member of the group start his military service.
BTS, or in short for Bangtan Sonyeondan is a South Korean boy band that was formed in 2010 and debuted in 2013 under Big Hit Entertainment. The group consists of Jin, Suga, J-Hope, RM, Jimin, V, and Jungkook.
The all-male band was originally launched as a hip-hop group. Eventually, their musical style evolved into a wide range of genres. After debuting in 2013 with their single album 2 Cool 4 Skool, they released their first Korean-language studio album, Dark & Wild, and Japanese-language studio album, Wake Up, in 2014.
In 2017, BTS crossed into the global music market, leading the Korean Wave into the United States. In 2020, BTS became the first all-South Korean act to reach number one on the Billboard Global 200 and US Billboard Hot 100 with their Grammy-nominated single “Dynamite”.
Meanwhile, many fans of the K-pop supergroup turned emotional following the latest update about Jin. According to the report of a South Korean entertainment outlet, Soompi, the oldest member of BTs will undergo five weeks of basic military training in Gyeonggi Province on December 13.
After the training, BTS Jin will be deployed at the “frontline unit.” However, Bighit Music and the South Korean Ministry of Defense have yet to issue any confirmation.
It can be recalled that it was in October when BigHit Music announced that all the members of BTS will join the mandatory military service in South Korea. They are expected to be reunited in 2025 after their military service.
