Metro Manila and Davao City recommended for GCQ starting June 1, 2020, says IATF.
Metro Manila and Davao City are hereby recommended by the Inter-Agency Task Force on Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF) to be placed under General Community Quarantine (GCQ) starting June 1, 2020.
In an interview with GMA News TV program Dobol B, Dr. Tony Leachon, Special Adviser to the National Task Force COVID-19, recommended the following areas to be placed under GCQ from June 1-15, 2020.
But Cebu City will remain under Modified Enhanced Community Quarantine (MECQ) according to Dr. Leachon
“MECQ ang Cebu City dahil sila ang second epicenter. The rest of the country ay modified GCQ,” Dr. Leachon stress
However, Roque did not confirm if a copy of a supposed memo from IATF recommending GCQ for Metro Manila and Davao City that is circulating online is authentic.
“Can’t [confirm]. PRRD (Duterte’s initials) will announce tonight,” Roque told the press.
According to GCQ guidelines, the movement of the public is limited to accessing vital goods and services.
However, activities opted for leisure are prohibited.
In the said guidelines, persons aged 21 below and 60 years old and above are not allowed to go out.
