Amid boycott calls, former lawyer of Leni Robredo has this comment about Delimondo
DELIMONDO – A former lawyer of Leni Robredo gave a message to those who are calling to boycott the homegrown brand owned by the Enriles.
Delimondo is a homegrown brand that is well known for its corned beef and other food items.
Over the years, netizens have been calling to boycott it. Probably, due to the affiliation of Enrile with the Marcoses.
Previously, Katrina Ponce-Enrile pleads with the netizens to not drag their company into the political scene.
“Delimondo is known for their corned beef, but we do have other products equally as good as our corned beef. Can we not make this political. I created Delimondo. My family name just happened to be Ponce Enrile,” she wrote in a Facebook post.
On Twitter, Emil Marañon, an electoral lawyer gave a message to those who are calling to boycott Delimondo.
In a tweet, he reminded the netizens especially the Kakampinks that it’s okay to boycott the homegrown brand but should not say that the product sold by the Enriles are “hindi masarap.”
“Boycott or cancel niyo ang Delimondo dahil sa prinsipyo, pero huwag niyo namang sabihing “hindi masarap” kasi deep inside alam nating lahat na hindi totoo,” he wrote.
Journalist Christian Esguerra, one of the staunch critics of the Marcoses, also agreed with the statement of Marañon.
“Masarap lalo ‘yung caldereta corned beef,” he wrote.
It can be recalled that the boycott call for Delimondo became a trend on Twitter anew due to the connection of the Enriles to the Marcoses.
Former Senate President Juan Ponce Enrile is currently the chief presidential legal counsel of President Bongbong Marcos Jr.
