What does director Manny Castañeda have to say about the success of Maid in Malacañang?

MANNY CASTAÑEDA – The famous director took to social media wherein he thanked the “dilawan” and “komunista” for the success of the Maid in Malacañang.

The last 72 hours of the Marcos family in the Palace have been depicted in the drama-comedy film Maid in Malacañang.

It stars Cesar Montano as former President Ferdinand Marcos Sr., Diego Loyzaga as President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr., Cristine Reyes as Senator Imee Marcos, and Ruffa Gutierrez as Imelda Romualdez Marcos and Ella Cruz as Irene Marcos.

While those who will portray as house helpers of the Marcos family are Elizabeth Oropesa as Yaya Lucy, Beverly Salviejo as Yaya Biday, and Karla Estrada as Yaya Santa.

The movie is directed by controversial director, Darryl Yap.

Maid in Malacañang is currently airing in theaters nationwide. It first premiered on August 3.

On Facebook, director Manny Castañeda thanked the “dilawan, komunista at iba pang mga anti Marcos for giving it more than enough publicity.”

“Dahil sa kanilang sobrang epal, yung kabilang kampo ang nakinabang,” he added.

Director Manny also thanked the movie for reviving the movie industry in the country after it fall back due to the pandemic.

As of posting, the box office earnings of Maid in Malacañang have reached over 40 million pesos. It is expected to increase over the weekend.

Director Manny was a staunch critic of the Dilawans and Kakampinks- supporters of former Vice President Leni Robredo.
