Robin Padilla Faces Possible Obstruction Case Over Alleged Assistance to Bato dela Rosa
The Philippine National Police – Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (PNP-CIDG) is expected to file an obstruction of justice complaint against Senator Robin Padilla over allegations that he helped Senator Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa avoid authorities.
The CIDG announced that it will file the case before the National Prosecution Service of the Department of Justice. This follows their ongoing investigation into the reported movement of Senator dela Rosa, who is alleged to have left the Senate with assistance from Padilla and other individuals.
According to the CIDG, their findings suggest that the incident was not a simple case of a ride-sharing arrangement. Instead, it was described as a planned and coordinated operation. Investigators believe that the movement was carefully organized in a way that helped avoid detection while leaving the Senate premises in the early hours of May 14, 2026.

The agency also reported that another vehicle was allegedly involved during the operation. This additional car was said to have acted as a backup and security escort, following Padilla’s vehicle during the process. Authorities say this detail strengthens their view that the incident was pre-arranged rather than spontaneous.
The CIDG emphasized that they are treating the matter seriously and that anyone who assists in preventing lawful arrests or helps individuals evade justice may face criminal charges. They stressed that obstruction of justice will not be tolerated and will be addressed through proper legal action.

At present, the case is expected to proceed to the Department of Justice for further evaluation. Officials have not yet released additional details on possible charges beyond obstruction of justice, and the individuals involved have yet to issue formal responses regarding the allegations.
