“Nurse” Blamed for the Death of Marilaque’s Superman

Netizens Slam Alleged Nurse for First Aid Response to Marilaque’s Superman

MARILAQUE’S SUPERMAN ACCIDENT – A woman who claimed to be a nurse is being blamed for the death of motovlogger John Arguelles, who passed away after a failed Superman stunt on the Marilaque Highway in Tanay, Rizal.

Before his death, Arguelles was seen unconscious after his failed “Superman” stunt. A video taken at the scene shows bystanders checking on him as he lay on the road. A woman then stepped in, stating that she was a nurse and instructing others not to touch him. She and a few others removed Arguelles’ helmet and tapped him several times in an attempt to wake him.

However, many netizens and medical professionals questioned her actions, particularly her decision to remove his helmet and force him to sit up. They pointed out that these actions could have worsened his injuries.

“The goal is to stabilize the patient by immobilizing him and not allow unnecessary spine movements. Make sure his airways are open and monitor his vital signs,” one commenter stated. Another explained that moving a person with serious injuries, especially to the spine or internal organs, could cause further harm. Some even questioned whether the woman was truly a nurse due to her handling of the situation.

Meanwhile, Arguelles’ companion, Recs Akmad, who remained still after the crash, survived. However, he may now be facing multiple charges related to the incident.

Following the accident, fellow rider Harold Aratan announced on Facebook that they had formally settled the matter with the victims’ families. He urged the public to be patient and understanding, stating that the settlement was finalized at the Tanay police station.

Additionally, Akmad issued a public apology, acknowledging his mistake and asking for an end to the harsh criticism against the late Arguelles. He expressed deep remorse, emphasizing that he had already apologized to the moto vlogger’s family and that the situation was equally painful for him.
