Mechanic Praises Customer Who Paid Despite Financial Struggles
A mechanic expresses admiration to a customer who still paid for his service even though he was short on money.
Recently, the Facebook page Mekanikong Gala shared a heartwarming story about a customer who, despite being short on cash, insisted on paying for his repair service. The post elicited reactions from the netizens.
The customer, an elderly man, showed up at the shop late at night, hoping to get his motorcycle’s signal lights fixed. He explained to the mechanic that he needed the lights for safety and wanted to avoid any accidents or trouble on the road.
The mechanic, noticing that the man’s motorcycle wasn’t a common brand, realized the specific relay needed would be hard to find, especially that late in the evening.
After some troubleshooting, the mechanic offered a solution: they could buy a more affordable relay and convert it to fit the motorcycle. The man asked how much this would cost, and the mechanic suggested he send P100 to cover the part.
Seeing the man’s difficulty in finding cash, the mechanic planned to waive the labor fee as a gesture of kindness.
Once the repair was complete, the elderly man smiled, happy that his signal lights were working again. But to the mechanic’s surprise, the man handed over an additional payment for the labor, despite his limited funds.
The mechanic’s assistant, unaware of the mechanic’s plan to waive the fee, accepted the payment, assuming it was a tip.
Reflecting on the experience, the mechanic shared his admiration for the man’s integrity, especially since many customers, even those with enough resources, sometimes try to get free repairs.
He ended the post by sending blessings to the man, appreciating his respect for the work done.
