Atty. Mark Tolentino, Apollo Quiboloy’s Lawyer, Speaks on Pastor’s Senatorial Bid
Apollo Quiboloy’s lawyer, Attorney Mark Tolentino, said that the pastor will be the senator for the poor, ordinary Filipinos, and workers.
One of the high-profile personalities who are faced with charges and were arrested by the authorities this year is Pastor Apollo Quiboloy. It was in September when the Philippine National Police (PNP) authorities arrested the Pastor.
Quiboloy is the founder and leader of the Kingdom of Jesus Christ. Prior to his arrest, the PNP authorities were on intensified search operations at the KOJC compound for weeks already. There were drilling operations amid the initial belief of the authorities that the Pastor may be hiding in a bunker.
According to the lawyer of Quiboloy, Attorney Israelito Torreon, it was an ultimate sacrifice for the Pastor as he can no longer see his church and his members in such situations amid the PNP operations. The Pastor is currently detained at the PNP Custodial Center.
The other co-accused of Pastor Quiboloy were already brought to Pasig City Jail. Recently, to the surprise of many people, the KOJC Founder filed his Certificate for Candidacy (CoC) for senator in the 2025 Midterm Elections.
Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, the Pastor’s candidacy for senator was filed through Apollo Quiboloy’s lawyer, Attorney Mark Tolentino. The Pastor is running under the Workers’ and Peasants’ Party.
However, WPP’s Attorney Sonny Matula denied signing the certificate of nomination and acceptance or CONA of the Pastor. Based on the report, he also expressed that the other two (2) authorized signatories of the party, Atty. Ariel Arias and Dr. Oscar Morado, denied signing the CONA of the Pastor.

Following the Freeze Order of the Supreme Court on the bank accounts and properties of the Pastor, former President Rodrigo Roa Duterte takes control of the assets of Apollo Quiboloy who is his close friend and former spiritual adviser.
