“Sa loob ng apat na taon, parang ang damdamin ko mamatay na sa takot na baka mawala na si mama. At the same time, gustong gusto ko siyang alagaan nang personal pero hindi ko magawa,” Barres said.
Barres explained that he had been working in Taiwan as the family’s breadwinner, which made it difficult for him to return home earlier, even when he longed to be with his ailing mother.
Despite the challenges of being away for so long, Barres said the moment was incredibly rewarding. He had worried about his mother’s health for years, fearing that he might lose her before having the chance to care for her personally.
