After Mark Andrew Yulo Rides a Bicycle to Work, Mystica Has a Message for Carlos Yulo
MYSTICA – The former television personality expressed sympathy for Mark Andrew Yulo, the father of two-time Olympic gold medalist Carlos Yulo, after Mr. Yulo went viral for riding a bicycle to work.
In a Facebook post, Mystica acknowledged Carlos’s decision to distance himself from his parents for personal freedom but strongly felt that he should provide financial support to them.
Mystica remarked that while separating from his parents to enjoy his freedom was understandable, it was distressing to see Mr. Yulo struggling with a bicycle despite Carlos’s significant earnings. Mystica emphasized that she would find it difficult to reconcile with her conscience if she saw her parent in such a situation, especially given the substantial wealth Carlos has accumulated.

Carlos Yulo earned P130 million after winning two gold medals at the 2024 Paris Olympics. Despite his success, he has not publicly discussed any plans to support his family and has admitted to being unsure about how he will use his prize money. Previously, Carlos accused his family of misappropriating funds from his international competition earnings, but the Yulo family denied these accusations, maintaining that their lifestyle had not changed.
Meanwhile, Mystica, whose real name is Ruby Rose Mauanay Villanueva, is a former actress and singer. She is known for her roles in television series and movies, including notable appearances in Ang Probinsyano (2015), D’ Uragons (2002), and Pipo (2009). Mystica gained recognition as a singer and was dubbed the “Split Queen” for her flexibility and acrobatic performances.
