After Helping Stranded People During the Typhoon, Gerald Anderson Falls Ill
GERALD ANDERSON – The actor fell ill after helping stranded people during the onslaught of Typhoon Carina.
Gerald Anderson is a well-known actor and basketball player. His career began in 2006 when he gained prominence as a contestant on “Pinoy Big Brother: Teen Edition,” where he was named Teen Third Big Placer. He quickly transitioned to acting, achieving significant success with leading roles in popular TV shows such as “Sana Maulit Muli” (2007), “Tayong Dalawa” (2009), and “Budoy” (2011–2012). His notable performances also include the TV adaptation of “Fredo” in Mars Ravelo’s “Dyesebel” (2014) and the film “On the Job” (2013), which was featured in the Cannes Film Festival Director’s Fortnight.
Anderson’s acting career is managed by Star Magic, ABS-CBN’s talent agency. He has received several accolades, including being named Best Drama Actor at the NSUU TV Awards and winning Most Popular Loveteam with Kim Chiu at the Guillermo Mendoza Memorial Scholarship Foundation Box Office Awards. His roles often reflect his reputation as the “Action-Drama Prince” of the Philippine entertainment industry.
In addition to his acting career, Anderson has pursued basketball, joining the Marikina Shoemasters in the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League in 2018. His basketball career also includes stints with the Imus Bandera, GenSan Warriors, and Boracay Islanders.
Recently, he made headlines after helping stranded people amid the onslaught of Typhoon Carina. However, following his heroic act, he fell ill. On Instagram, he shared a photo of the medications he’s been using. In the image, he is holding two pills, one green and one yellow. He mentioned that it was his final day of taking the medicine and expressed his gratitude to everyone for their support and concern, writing, “Last day of meds 100 from the bottom of my heart, thank you everyone for all the love & concern.”
Previously, Gerald garnered attention for his involvement in rescue operations during Typhoon Carina. He was seen risking his own safety to help evacuate families as the floodwaters rapidly rose.
