Wedding Ring Swallowed by the Wife of a Retired NFL Player
DANNAH MCMICHAEL – A Filipino-American wife of a retired NFL player accidentally swallowed her wedding ring.
Dannah didn’t realize she had swallowed her wedding ring due to severe jet lag during her vacation in the Philippines and Thailand last month. Dannah, married to retired NFL player Randy McMichael, shared her unusual experience on Instagram, which was later picked up by U.S. publications like Newsweek and People.
In her post, Dannah recounted how she took off her ring to shower and then, without thinking, put it in her hand along with two magnesium pills and two hair vitamins. She swallowed everything without looking and began choking on the pills. When she noticed her ring was missing, she suspected she had swallowed it. An X-ray two days later confirmed her suspicion.
Dannah, who is currently in the Philippines, agreed to an interview with PEP.ph about the incident. She explained that her husband Randy was initially furious, thinking she had lost the ring at a massage salon. The ring, made of white gold and surrounded by five diamonds, holds significant sentimental value for the couple, who have been married for seven years.
Dannah swallowed the ring on May 26, and the X-ray on May 28 in Thailand confirmed its presence in her stomach. She reflected on the experience, saying she learned to always pay attention to what she puts in her mouth.
Dannah, born in the Philippines, grew up in Mandaluyong City and studied at St. Paul’s College in Makati City before migrating to the United States at the age of nine. She expressed her deep love for the Philippines and mentioned her desire for her two sons to be familiar with Filipino culture. This love for her homeland is why her family frequently vacations in the Philippines, with Palawan being one of their favorite destinations.
