Whamos Cruz on “stolen” clips: “Hindi po ako ‘yung nag-install ng video na ‘yun”
WHAMOS CRUZ – The social media personality was criticized after it was discovered that he used video clips without permission for his “Piliin Mo Ang Pilipinas” entry.
The original creator of the clips noticed this unauthorized use, leading to public criticism of Whamos. Instead of offering a direct apology, Whamos acknowledged the creator in his video’s comment section while defending his actions.
Whamos blamed his editor for adding the unauthorized clips to the video. He explained that a private message from the content creator would have been a better approach than a public complaint. Whamos expressed discomfort with the accusations, particularly being labeled a thief.
“Meron akong nabalitaan na ninakaw ko daw po ‘yung clip. So meron siyang caption na ‘Whamos stole my video,’ medyo nasaktan ako doon sa part na ‘yun. ‘Yung sa akin lang, nag-message na lang sana, hindi na nag-post sa social media,” said Whamos. “Hindi po ako ‘yung nag-install ng video na ‘yun. Ang nag-install po nung video na ‘yun sa entry ko is ‘yung editor ko….Ako na po ‘yung humihingi ng pasensya sa editor ko sa nangyari,” he added.
Whamos argued that the clips were used properly, claiming that they were not part of any negative or harmful content. He believed that the final video was acceptable, justifying the use of the clips. “Ginamit naman po ‘yun sa tamang paraan, hindi naman po sa maling paraan, hindi naman po sa pangit na video ‘yung pinasukan nung video niyo po,” he stated.
Despite his explanations, many people online did not accept Whamos’ reasoning. They pointed out the rights of the videographer and the ethical mistakes in how Whamos acknowledged the original work and handled the situation.
Meanwhile, Whamos Cruz is an internet personality known for his presence on various social media platforms, including YouTube and Facebook. He has gained notoriety for his vlogs and content that often involve pranks, challenges, and lifestyle videos.
