Ogie Diaz Personally Tries the Diwata Pares Overload

After Facing Backlash, Ogie Diaz Tries the Diwata Pares Overload

OGIE DIAZ – The talent manager tried the ‘Diwata Pares Overload’ following backlash he received after commenting on the quality of the food at a stall run by internet personality Deo Balbuena, known as Diwata.

On April 24, Ogie Diaz shared feedback from his friends about their meal at Diwata’s eatery, noting that the food was not up to par. Ogie mentioned that he asked about it because the restaurant had become popular online, with comments mentioning that the food, especially the pares, wasn’t good. So, he asked a friend who had eaten there, who said that the food didn’t agree with his tastes.

Diwata, unfazed by the criticism, stated that he wasn’t concerned about Ogie’s views and emphasized that customers are free to eat elsewhere if they don’t like his food.

In his vlog, Ogie clarified that his intention wasn’t to criticize but to offer constructive feedback that could help Diwata enhance his service. To further address the situation, Ogie spent 2,000 pesos to try both the Diwata Pares Overload and Diwata’s fried chicken himself. He found both dishes to be reasonably good considering their price. “Kasama ‘yung rice? Unli ‘yung rice?” He added: “For 100 pesos, hindi na masama.”

Nevertheless, Ogie acknowledged that taste is subjective, and others might feel differently about Diwata’s offerings.
