Angono Centenarian Receives Cash Incentives As She Celebrates Her 100th Birthday
A centenarian in Angono, Rizal was recognized and honored by the local government on her 100th birthday.
A centenarian is a person who has reached the age of 100 years or more. Reaching the age of 100 is relatively uncommon, although the number of centenarians has been increasing in many parts of the world due to advances in healthcare, nutrition, and overall living conditions.
Centenarians are often recognized and honored by communities and governments, and in some places, special incentives or honors are given to those who achieve this milestone.
Recently, the Facebook page “Municipality of Angono, Rizal” shared photos of a centenarian named Gregoria Reyes who was recently honored by the local government and celebrated her remarkable milestone of turning 100 years old.
The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Region 4-A and the Angono Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO) marked the occasion with a special ceremony.
On April 7, 2024, Lola Gregoria was recognized as the third living centenarian in Angono. Her 100th birthday was celebrated with much joy and pride by her family, friends, and the community.
The MSWDO with the Office of Senior Citizens Affairs (OSCA) in Angono, arranged a memorable event to honor her longevity and contribution to the community.
DSWD Calabarzon representatives personally delivered a Centenarian Incentive of P100,000 to Lola Gregoria at her home in Aurora Subdivision, Barangay Kalayaan. The cash incentive is part of the government’s program to honor and support centenarians in the Philippines.

Additionally, Angono Mayor Jeri Mae Calderon presented Lola Gregoria with a certificate of recognition, acknowledging her as a centenarian and celebrating her life and contributions to the community.
A plaque of recognition was also awarded to her, symbolizing the town’s pride and appreciation for her enduring spirit.
