Batangas Governor Hermilando Mandanas, Lawyer Partner Get Married in Church Wedding
Batangas Governor Hermilando Mandanas officially tied the knot with his lawyer partner, Angelica Chua, who is nearly 50 years younger than him.
A lot of Batangueños are happy seeing their governor, Batangas Gov. Hermilando Mandanas, happy as he got married to Attorney Angelica Chua. The 80-year-old politician is more popularly called Gov. Dodo in his province.
Batangas Governor Hermilando Mandanas and Atty. Angelica Chua got married in a church wedding in Batangas City. The event drew several popular personalities including President Bongbong Marcos and First Lady Liza Marcos.

The couple had touching vows and messages for each other where they revealed how their love story started. In her promise to her now husband, the lawyer revealed that he had asked her to be her valentine which she is grateful for. She also expressed her gratitude that he chose to spend the rest of his life with her.
“When we first started dating, you said you need someone stronger than you… I promise to be strong for you, to support you… To take good care of you,” the bride vowed to her groom.

In her vows, Mrs. Mandanas says:

Atty. Angelica Chua also jested that as part of the “due process”, she promises to listen to him and his suggestions “but not necessarily follow” them. In an emotional note, she expressed how she feels secured with him that she can put down the guards she have in the pursuit of protecting her heart after getting it broken several times in the past.
The lawyer expressed that Batangas Governor Hermilando Mandanas showed her that she deserves to be loved and respected. Her request to her husband is for him to stay strong as long as he can so they can grow old together.
Based on a report of ABS-CBN News, the mother of Atty. Angelica Chua, Judge Maria Cecilia Austria Chua, was the “brain behind the Mandanas ruling”. The bride is from a political family from the town of Ibaan in Batangas. Her father is a doctor.
According to the wife of Batangas Governor Hermilando Mandanas, she always manifested marrying a politician. Based on the article, at the reception, she revealed that she was really scared the first time she met the siblings of the Governor but she is very grateful for their treatment to her.
“I would like to thank the Mandanas family for welcoming me with open arms,” the bride said. Both the church ceremony and the reception of the wedding were live streamed for the people of Batangas who want to watch the Governor’s wedding.
